Welcome to our online admissions resource for those applying for medical school in the UK

As medical students, we know that getting into medical school is not easy and, quite rightly, demands a lot of motivation, dedication and some specialist knowledge. That’s where we come in! We realised that there was no one website which dealt with all of your burning questions about medical school, so we decided that the only way to ensure that you received free and accurate advice was to write our own site.
The website is brought to you by the Leeds WAMS (Widening Access to Medical School) Scheme. Have a look around - we hope you find the information useful. Please note that we are not admissions tutors - we are medical students. It just so happens that we got through the admissions process and enjoy helping others.
This website is a resource for potential medical students applying to ANY university. If you get irretrievably lost, just check out our site map.
We cannot stress how important it is to do your own research into the medical applications process and into which universities you apply to. This website aims to point you in the right direction, not to spoon-feed you all of the information.
Leeds WAMS Scheme wishes you all the best of luck.
Mentoring opportunities: If you are a School in West Yorkshire with a sixth form and think some of your pupils would benefit from having a medical student mentor, then contact us. We pair sixth formers up with medical students via a safe internet area. Medical students can give advice on admissions, interviews, finding work experience and much more!
From mentee to mentor! Check out our latest article done by Rachael Czajka, a member of the WAMS committee. She tells us her story and her journey to becoming a medical student. See our 'Testimonial' section
Presentation opportunities: If you are a school in West Yorkshire, and think your class would benefit from a presentation/workshop from some medical students then contact us. We give a range of presentations to year 9/10, where we tie in medicine and key stage 3/4 science, dispel some of the myths about being a doctor and get interactive! We can give admissions and interview advice to year 12 and 13.
