Welcome to the The University of Leeds WAMS (Widening Access to Medical School) scheme.
We are a student-led society, whose main aim is to ensure that all students, regardless of their background, have the same chance of getting into medical school.
We try to achieve our aim by providing a number of different services, all of which are free and delivered by volunteer medical students and doctors.
We run events almost monthly at the University of Leeds, provide an ambassadors scheme where medical students go out to local high schools, a primary school scheme and a mentoring service. See the individual web pages for more information.

The WAMS website is in the process of being renewed. In the meantime, we have added new resources for sixth-form students regarding virtual work experience opportunities and webinars on medical schools interviews. These can be found under 'WAMS Support and Events', in the 'Resources for sixth-formers' section.
