Widening Access to Medicine Society
We regret to inform you that due to events beyond our control, our outreach work has been paused for 2021/22. At this moment in time, all of our projects have been stopped. We ask that you don't contact us to ask when these projects will return - if, or when we know, we will update you on this website.
Please continue to use this website to guide your journey into medicine - there are lots of useful pieces of information here. We are working hard to create an online blog, written by our volunteers. You can contact us with specific questions about studying medicine on our email (firstname.lastname@example.org). If your query is related to the application process or the Leeds MBChB, please see the University of Leeds website.
Thank you for a wonderful 10 years of WAMS, and we hope to be back soon.
The Leeds WAMS Team
Here at Leeds WAMS, we are driven by a single goal; to help medical applicants from widening participation backgrounds secure places at medical school. We're run by students, for students and we're affiliated with The University of Leeds.
"I really liked how the medical students came across, and were so relaxed when speaking. They sounded like they seriously knew what they were talking about, rather than having come prepared for a certain set of questions."
"My experience of WAMS has been one of genuine enjoyment, aided my application to medical school and helped me learn more about myself"
"The people who delivered (the session) were really friendly, and answered all of our questions in a way that we understood. It has made me feel less nervous for the interviews."
"At WAMS, we don't make better applicants - we make better doctors."
