IMPORTANT NOTICE

We regret to inform you that due to events beyond our control, our outreach work has been paused for 2021/22. At this moment in time, all of our projects have been stopped. We ask that you don't contact us to ask when these projects will return - if, or when we know, we will update you on this website.

Please continue to use this website to guide your journey into medicine - there are lots of useful pieces of information here. We are working hard to create an online blog, written by our volunteers. You can contact us with specific questions about studying medicine on our email (medicineoutreach@leeds.ac.uk). If your query is related to the application process or the Leeds MBChB, please see the University of Leeds website

Thank you for a wonderful 10 years of WAMS, and we hope to be back soon.

GET INVOLVED

We could not run the scheme without our fantastic bank of volunteers and we are also always looking for new, enthusiastic individuals to join us each year. We provide a certificate for every event that you attend, and also provide a free lunch at our 'medicine taster day' events.

MEDICAL STUDENTS

WAMS is always open to enthusiastic and reliable volunteers. You can volunteer at any of our events, from our taster days to our mock MMIs. We advertise volunteer roles on Facebook - you can find the link below!

DOCTORS

We host a range of events to help students, including: mock Multiple Mini Interviews (MMIs), virtual medicine taster days, virtual workshops (on communication skills, ethics and situational judgment), a virtual summer school and an online mentoring scheme. We welcome doctors as volunteers to help deliver these events. Our mentoring scheme runs throughout the year, so you can join as a mentor at any point.
